The Portes du Soleil is located in the Alps on the border between Switzerland and France.
13 different resorts (Châtel, Morzine, Chapelle d’Abondance, Avoriaz, Champery, Les Crosets, Morgins, Montriond, Les Gets, St-Jean d’Aulps, Torgon, Champoussin and Val d’Illiez) are connected by the ski area. Together they have 680 km of groomed slopes.
The ski area is also known for its many off-piste opportunities and snow. From December to April there is great skiing. To keep the snow in perfect condition, there are another 527 snow cannons.
The ski area is on 1100-2466 meters. The average height of most forested slopes in the area and walking many trails among the trees. The ski lifts are 208 of which:
4 cabin lifts, 10 gondola lifts, 83 chair lifts and 112 lifts. Furthermore, the 289 groomed pistes divided into 28 black pistes, 108 red runs, 112 blue and 41 green (easy) slopes. For the cracks there are 10 snow parks, 3 half-pipes and 3 boardercross (Châtel).
