Lift Passes / Boarder / Ski lessons:
You are in the ski area Portes du Soleil. You have many opportunities to go skiing. If you are a beginner or if you have young children, it is the small family ski area on the doorstep perhaps more than enough for you. The slopes all come back in the same parking lot off (always handy with children who go exploring yourself). In this area are also provided by the French ski school, ski lessons. Ski lessons you need to book in the village at the ESF (Ecole Ski France) (not at the bottom of the slope). You have enough of a lift pass “La Chapelle d’Abondance” for that area. Are not so experienced, you have enough for a pair of blue and red runs then resign at La Panthiaz might be an option for you. Again, you can use a “La Chapelle d’Abondance” just another pretty area. This is also the nearest pick up point for the huge Portes du Soleil area and generally less crowded. In addition to “La Chapelle d’Abondance” ticket since season 2016/2017 a “Liberté” ticket. (For the insiders … it replaces the Evasion ski pass) The “Liberté” area is much larger. You can get on again at La Panthiaz, but you can continue to Chatel and Morgins. Chatel you can take the chair lifts “Portes du Soleil” and “Gabelou” (or in the town with a shuttle) to La Linga. From there you can continue to Plein Dranse. The snow conditions are not so good, it is most practical to go to La Linga and Pre la Joux and there to take the elevator. There you can also choose from a “Chatel” pass or a pass for “Portes du Soleil”. Detailed information and maps about the different ski areas and ski passes are at the tills below to get the elevators. Alternatively, the free Portes du Soleil app on your smartphone. Then you ski map, opening times, snow heights, etc. etc. all at your fingertips.
